Day 48 Feb 21 - Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island, Australia

That's me and Glenda if you couldn't tell

We got up at 8:20 after trying to sleep through all the announcements which started at 6 am. It was 66 degrees with 82 percent humidity under partly cloudy skies and 24 knot winds. We had coffee on the verandah before going to breakfast at 9:45. We caught the tender to shore at 10:20 and then walked around Penneshaw and shopped. We were joined by Ron & Dave and bought local honey, postcards and stamps and got them to stamp the cards with the Kangaroo Island cancellation stamp, earrings made from recycled magazines by ladies in Uganda, and a Kangaroo Island cap. We took pictures as we walked and stopped for drinks at a nice little bar. The only critters that we saw were the birds on the rocks. It was several miles to another part of the island where the sea lions, kangaroos, and penguins were. After about 3 hours, we caught the tender back to the ship and re-boarded at 2. I updated the blog and Glenda read on the verandah. I also printed out some pictures for staff members. Before dinner, we went to the Crow's Nest and talked with Don, Rose, Ron & Dave. After dinner, we returned and talked with Don, Peter, Ron & Dave until 10 when they closed the Crow's Nest for a crew party. We went down to the Sport's Bar with Don, Ron & Dave, and Tanja until 11:20. We got to set the clocks back 90 minutes tonight.
