Day 24 - Invergordon, Scotland

I got up at 6, dressed and went to breakfast at 6:30. After breakfast, I returned to the cabin until 8:15 when I went to the World Stage to get my sticker and wait for my tour to be called. Today's tour is to the Glen Ord Distillery and a walk around Beauly. Glen Ord is the only single malt whiskey distillery left on the Black Isle peninsula. Also Mary Queen of Scots dubbed Beauly as "Beau Lieu" meaning beautiful place. My tour got called at 8:50 and I boarded the bus at 9. We rode about 30 minutes to the town of Beauly and saw the Catholic priory ruins where the newly converted protestant people destroyed the roof and drove the monks away. I walked a couple of blocks each way after taking my priory photos and other that a lot of flowers, there didn't seem to much to look at. We re-boarded the bus and drove about 25 minutes to the distillery where we had a nice tour of the plant and a small taste of their 12 year old single malt. We then drove back to the port past some highland cattle and through some small villages. I got back to my cabin at 1and uploaded my photos. At 1:30, I went to the Dive-In for a burger and fries for lunch and went back to the cabin at 2:10 to update the blog entry. I realized that we were getting to the end of the cruise soon, so I started packing things that I haven't needed or no longer need due to the warmer weather. After cleaning up for dinner, I went to the shops and bought another short sleeve polo since the ship is concerned that I still had a non-refundable on-board credit of $200. Now it is down to about $170. After taking the shirt back to the cabin, I went to dinner at 6 and after dinner, I went to the Billboard to listen to the pianists play 60's tunes and have a drink. At 7:30, I returned to the cabin and worked the daily crossword. I then read until bedtime.
