Antarctic Experience Day 4 - Sun 02/02 - Day 30

I got up at 5:55 and it was 34 degrees with 96% humidity and heavy fog.  Last night at a little past 2 am, the counter weights in the elevators behind my cabin started banging loudly and it lasted almost 30 minutes.  My computer wi-fi was not working for a while this morning, even though I could access it through my phone.  We were supposed to have narrative start at 7, so I dressed and went up to the Crow's Nest at 6:45 for coffee and a sweet roll.  I went outside and could see absolutely nothing through the fog so I went back to the cabin.  At 8, I went to breakfast and at 8:30, the Captain announced that due to the fog, we would be cancelling Hope Bay and Antarctic Sound visits and head back to King George Island and on toward Cape Horn.  I finally got my wi-fi working again and all was well with the world.  I relaxed in my cabin and caught up on Jeff's blog and read until time to get ready for the evening.  I went to the Crow's Nest at 6:40 and talked with Don, Jim, and Sue.  Tonight's animal is an elephant.  After dinner,  I went to the cabin to watch the SuperBowl.  I went to bed after the game.
