We had a wake up call at 7:15 so that Glenda could get to her 8 am nail
appointment. I got up at 8 and it was 77 with 63 percent humidity. I
had coffee in the room while waiting for Glenda to return. I tried to
get on the internet without success. We think that the satellite is
being jammed by the military. Glenda returned at 9 and we had some more
coffee and then went to breakfast at 9:30. We sat out back and read
until 11 when we went back to the cabin for a nap. I got a little
sleep, but Glenda just read. At 2:20, I was able to get enough internet
access to check the email and update the blog. We went up at 3 for ice
cream and cobbler. At 4, we went to bingo where we got close but didn't
win. We had 2 conflicting cocktail parties from 7 to 8. AMEX was
holding one in the Crow's Nest and Martha and Bob were having one in the
Explorer's Lounge. We stopped in on the AMEX party for a drink and to
visit a few minutes before going down the Martha's even bigger party.
Just before dinner, the Captain made an announcement that the State
Department had lowered the warnings for the resort areas of Egypt and
that due to the speed we had been going in the area of pirate activity,
we had an extra day that we could stop at Safaga, Egypt. After dinner,
we applied for the shortened tour (11 hours instead of 14 1/2) to Karnak
and the Valley of the Kings. Then we went to the Crow's Nest until
10:50. We stopped by the casino on the way to the cabin and Glenda won
$30 but I didn't win. We got to the cabin at 11:20.
