Antarctic Experience Day 3 - Sat 2/1 - Day 29

I woke up at 6 and it was 32 degrees with 96% humidity.  Sunrise was at 4:31 and sunset will be at 10:23.  I dressed and went up to the Crow's Nest for coffee and pastries at 6:30.  I went outside and took some pictures but the narrative wasn't to begin until 8 so I went back to the cabin for a while to stay warm,  The Captain announced at 7:50 that the Lemaire Channel was blocked by ice and that we would not be going through but would go back and through the Errera Channel.  I went back out as we rotated around and then went to breakfast at 8:30.  At 8:55, the narrator announced that the next narration would be about 11 so I went back to the cabin.  I went out at 10:50 for about 15 minutes but we were traveling into a stiff wind and I had to go back inside and have a cup of Hungarian beef goulash to warm up.  I went back outside at 11:15 for about an hour before I couldn't feel my fingers and I went back to the cabin to download my pictures which included some penguins and a couple of seals.  At 1:30, we headed for Charlotte Bay and the estimate to arrive was 4:30.  I took a short nap at 2 and got back up at 3.  Looking at the bow camera on the tv, it appeared as if we went through a short rain shower.   I went out at 4:40 and stayed out for 45 minutes and saw several humpback whales feeding.  I went back in before several more were spotted working with the birds to corral the food but it was just too cold.  It started to snow about 6 but I was snug in my cabin,  I went to the Crow's Nest at 6:30 and Talked with Don, Jim & Cathy, Lynn & Shirley, Lydia and Martha.  On the way to dinner, I saw Bill & Marianne and Barbie and talked with them and again after dinner at their table.  I think last night's towel animal was a rabbit and tonight's is a sting ray.  I went to bed at 9:30.
