I got up at 5 and it was 34 degrees with 97% humidity. I got dressed for cold weather and went up to the Crow's Nest for coffee and sweet rolls at 6 to look out the windows. It was so foggy that you could see very far. I did see 1 bird fly by. I went back to the cabin to catch up on the blog after the outages we had last night. I went out on the bow and took a few pictures of King George Island and then to the walking deck to take some more. I went to breakfast at 7:30 and then went outside again at 8:30 and took more pictures. It is very beautiful and not extremely cold yet. I continued to go out for 10 to 15 minutes every hour to take more pictures as we progressed. At noon, we were between landfalls, so I stayed warm in the cabin until 4 when we reached Deception Island and I saw some penguins in the water but was unable to get a picture. The nesting grounds were too far away for a good shot. I got really cold and went back to the cabin at 4:30. We have been told to conserve water until we get to Ushuaia on February 4. Skip a shower occasionally and they are reducing laundry service and not washing the decks. I went to the Crow's Nest at 6:30 and talked with Don, Jim & Cathy, Sue and Rita. After dinner, I went back to the cabin as the narration of day 2 begins at 7. I went to bed at 9:30.
